Great shots, wish we were there.

My favorite is the last one from above.

so what do you think?

The word that I used to describe my basic overall feeling while roaming the park was: delight.

I would actually like to go back and take some time to consider this type of large scale public art project.

The first day was more about raw sensation. It was about feeling part of something more grand. It was really about the city in many ways.

I am still looking for my words.

I love the color and can imagine what the sound of the breeze must make on the fabric. Did they make sounds. I am amazed and wish I could be there to walk under the gates. When are the flags unfurled and when are they rolled up, or are they left hanging? Are they red or orange? My, my, my !

Technically, they are "saffron," though I would describe them as the color of orange work cones. They will remain unfurled for only a few days more and then the whole installation will be taken down. I think that the most interesting visual was the way the sun filtered through the fabric...and how the bright orange poked through the dead browns and greys of the trees. I still have very mixed feelings about the aesthetics, but at the very least it was an interesting thing to experience!

i am looking forward to snow (i can say that easily now sitting in 70 degrees). these creamsicle colored safron structures against the white of fresh snow and the brown of dormant trees should make for some interesting images. beautiful pics. love the last one. look like flag carrying soldiers.
