I am living out of a backpack

Downtown, Miami

So let's see. I'm in a Clarion Inn in downtown Miami. My stuff is in Dallas. My home is in New York. My love is in Brooklyn.

I may be sent back to Dallas. I may be sent to Memphis. I may stay here.

Obviously, there are a few kinks to be worked out, but my job has officially begun. 30 minutes after arriving on Saturday afternoon, I was already heading out to a location for my first 12 hours of work. I will write about what I am doing as soon as I find out what I can say.

This means when I do have free time, I spend it sleeping, eating and staying in contact with Corie and other friends and family.

So bear with me. I hope I will be able to show you another side of this truly strange locale. My job entails going to places and talking to people that are pretty off limits to most. Hopefully I will be able to share some of my experiences.

And then there is just the amazing visuals to be found on the streets of Miami. Cuban Coffee...Little Haiti...Towering condos in neon...and a beautiful sky that welcomes most with puffs of white clouds that can turn dark and menacing in minutes. Who knows? Maybe I'll even see a huricane.

That is if they keep me here and don't send me somewhere else.
