Dumbo, Brooklyn

To do this weekend: Dumbo Arts Festival.

I have been to nearly every one over it's last ten years. The early years were truly inspirational (art literally popped out of dark alleys and pulled you into loading docks)...the later, a bit sad (so many studios are gone), but it's still a thrill to explore a neighborhood that will forever capitivate with its cobblestones, bridges, and looming buildings. Plus, every voyeur should thrill to be invited into the workspace of an artist. There is as much "art" in the environment as in the displayed works.
